Welcome Sakamoto Samurai!
We want to welcome all of our new and returning families to the 2023-24 school year. Sakamoto is a fun and vibrant school and the PTO is here to support that in every way possible.
What is the PTO and how can I get involved?
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization, a school-based, non-profit organization with a mission to help build a community that supports the school’s academic endeavors. We are a group of mothers, fathers, family members, teachers, staff, and administrators working together to create fun events, provide support and resources to classrooms, and collaborate with others to make each year better than the last.
We have so many ways our community can help!
Here are a few:
Check out our monthly newsletter on parent square to stay in touch.
Attend our monthly PTO Meeting via Zoom the first Tuesday of each month.
Share your ideas and and suggestions.
Volunteer when you can at the PTO Volunteer Corner.
Participate in school fundraisers.
If you have a student at Sakamoto Elementary School, we would love for you to join our team! We are so grateful to have such a large group of parent and community volunteers, and are always happy to welcome new faces. Without volunteers, our work wouldn’t be possible. So THANK YOU to our new volunteers and returning volunteers!
If you are interested in becoming more involved this year, please reach out to us at PTOSakamoto@gmail.com. You can also follow us on our Facebook group (Sakamoto PTO). We post frequently to our Facebook page and encourage you to interact there as well. We look forward to seeing you around the community.
As always thank you for your continued support!

PTO Funded Programs
The Sakamoto PTO raises money for vital school programs that are not funded by Oak Grove School District. This includes educational enrichment programs with an emphasis on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), Language Arts, Reading and P.E. These enrichment programs are only made available through the support of Sakamoto families.
When you volunteer, all students benefit! We simply cannot run many of our programs without the invaluable help of our wonderful volunteers! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved! Your help is needed! Please review our list of current volunteer opportunities. Or if you just want to know where you can help or become a more active volunteer, email our Volunteer Coordinator.
Check out the awesome local business that have chosen to support our school! When we support one another we can do more!
